Yes, you did read that correctly. The Stranger Things actor can be seen dancing with penguins in a recent video.
David Harbour was approached by Greenpeace via social media. They made him an offer: if he gets 200,000 retweets, he can join on an expedition to the Antarctic and ‘dance with the penguins’. Harbour, an animal lover, was happy to take on this challenge. After reaching out to his social media followers, he unsurprisingly managed to reach this goal.
The goal was supposedly achieved within 5 hours. That is some pretty impressive going and emphasises how loyal Harbour’s fan base is. It also goes to show how quickly the internet can inform and unite people, allowing them to achieve collective goals insanely quickly. While the internet can be destructive in many ways, it’s nice to see people spreading some joy. After reaching his goal of 200,000 RTs impressively quickly, Harbour was then able to proceed on the mission to Antarctica.
David Harbour took to Twitter to share his experience. Given it was his fan base who enabled him to go on this adventure, it is only fair that they get to see a snippet of it. Here it is:

That is 1 minutes and 26 seconds of my life I do not regret at all. While the video is extremely cute and funny, it also focuses on an important issue and includes a link for people to sign the Greenpeace petition. The petition aims to protect vast areas of land in areas such as the Antarctic, protecting wildlife such as the penguins as well as orcas, seals, and whales. It aims to create the ‘Largest protected area on Earth.’ Hopefully with the help of Harbour, Greenpeace will get more and more signatures for their petition and the penguins will have a happy future.
