Just two months after ‘breaking the internet’ with the debut of her platinum blonde hair, Billie Eilish has once again stunned the world, and this time with her new cover-shoot with British Vogue

The 19-year-old singer is usually seen sporting baggy clothes and neon-green and black hair. Since debuting her new blonde hair, Billie has adopted a new look for her Vogue cover – and she looks so different.

With her blonde hair curled, Eilish can be seen wearing a custom Burberry corset with a matching trench coat, sheer stockings.

Rising to fame at just 15-years-old, Eilish has long spoken out about her conscious decision to wear baggy clothes. Whittling it down to the sexualisation of young woman, and the pressure to adhere to insane beauty standards, Eilish noted that her choice to dress in baggy, “ill-fitting” clothes was to deter criticisms about her body. However, just last year a photo of the Bad Guy singer emerged of her wearing a vest and shorts and the star was inundated with comments about her figure.

Now the Eilish has taken the matter into her own hands by revealing her risqué photoshoot. The departure from her usual baggy clothes and previous statements regarding the matter have come across as rather ‘hypocritical’ to critics – but Eilish doesn’t care.

Discussing the fact that the images would get people talking, Eilish told Vogue: ‘[People might say,] ‘If you’re about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn’t you show your actual body?’ My thing is that I can do whatever I want.

It’s all about what makes you feel good. If you want to get surgery, go get surgery. If you want to wear a dress that somebody thinks that you look too big wearing, f*ck it – if you feel like you look good, you look good.’

Eilish went on to add, ‘Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hoes, and f*ck it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you.’

Despite all the negative noise, many have taken to social media to praise Eilish:

One person commented that it was “a fantastic piece with an immensely powerful perspective.”

Whether you’re a fan of Billie’s drastic change in look, you can’t deny that she looks fantastic.
