Facebook Will Let You Delete Messages With New Button

It’s about time Facebook!

Isn’t it just the worst thing to send a message and regret it? Or to send a message to the wrong person?

Fear no more! Facebook will be rolling out a new button that will let you delete any messages you have sent. But here’s the catch, you have to delete the message within 10 minutes.
This might not help with drunk texting anyone at 3 in the morning, because by the time you sober up enough to realize what you sent and who you sent it to, your 10 minutes will be long gone. However, this can be useful for day to day messaging. Maybe next they’ll roll out a button that asks if you’re sure you want to send that drunken text message at 3:15 AM. Now that could save people a lot of trouble. Not that I would know or anything…
Here is Facebook’s official announcement about the new feature:

I know we all can’t wait for this to be unveiled, since it will be probably be useful at least once a day. What we don’t know is whether or not the person you sent the message to will be able to see when you delete a message. Hopefully they’ll take a note from Instagram and make it so the other person can’t see when you deleted the message. But, this is Facebook. I guess the only way to find out is to wait for the update to be released.
While you’re patiently waiting for this new Facebook feature, check out this video from a metal band’s fake European tour.
