Eric Trump Claims Google is Using Anime to Suppress the Truth

According to Trump’s latest conspiracy theory, Google is trying to manipulate the public by hiding images of mobs.

Type the word “mob” into Google and you’d expect to see a large crowd of people. What you get instead are images of a popular anime called Mob Psycho 100. Hmm… is there a conspiracy to be uncovered here?

Our president’s son lashed out at Google in a recent tweet, saying that the corporation is “manipulating Americans” with false search results. Allegedly, other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckGo display the expected mob pictures.

You can try for yourself and see if Google also gives you anime pictures (mine certainly did). Now I might be going out on a limb here, but perhaps it’s just a tad more reasonable to think that Google probably figured out more people were searching for images of the anime rather than of actual mobs and that’s why they’re more prevalent in the search results. But whether it’s a deliberate attempt to misinform the masses by hiding pictures of what Eric Trump presumes would be left-wing mobs, I’ll leave up to you to decide.

The internet, however, has found the whole ordeal particularly humorous and it has resulted in – lo and behold – the roasting of Eric Trump on twitter:

Eric quite appropriately ended his tweet with #NothingToSeeHere. Maybe he was aware he could’ve been slightly overreacting?

Who knows?

Either way, thanks to Mr. Trump for spreading the word about the popular anime and, of course,  for the good chuckle!
