Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Says Warner Bros. ‘Inexcusably’ Rejected Henry Cavill’s Superman Return

In a recent video posted on Twitter, Dwayne Johnson celebrated the success of Black Adam’s digital release, as the film earned the No. 1 spot on the iTunes chart. After praising the film’s success, Johnson tossed some shade at Warner Bros. He called the studio out for “inexplicably and inexcusably” trying not to bring Henry Cavill back as Superman at the end of Black Adam.

Johnson said, “At the end of the day, the studio was not bringing Henry Cavill back. Inexplicably and inexcusably, but we weren’t going to take no for an answer.”

Johnson wants Black Adam to be the strongest force in the DC Universe, and in his mind, there was no other way to do so without bringing back the Man of Steel. Cavill was the perfect man for this job.

Although Warner Bros. wasn’t enthusiastic about bringing Henry Cavill back as Superman, it seems that Dwayne Johnson and his team were able to convince them. In addition to making the post-credit cameo in Black Adam, Cavill is supposed to reprise his role again, although we are not sure when that might happen. “There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman,” Cavill hinted about what’s to expect in an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

Considering the current state of DC, we can’t be certain about what project Cavill might next be attached to. People are curious to know if a Man of Steel sequel is coming. It’s also possible that Cavill’s next appearance could be in a Black Adam sequel because Johnson seems to be building toward a Superman vs Black Adam showdown.
