‘Big Brother 27’ Week 11 Recap: The Last Road till Finale Night

The ‘Big Brother’ house is in the home stretch, as a winner will be crowned on Sunday.

It was double eviction night last week, as a week’s worth of ‘Big Brother’ was played in just one night. The first evictee was Kelley. After Lauren won the final BB Blockbuster of the season, the votes between Kelley and Keanu were tied at two apiece. As Head of Household, Vince was the tiebreaker, and he chose to send Kelley packing. From there, Morgan captured her first HOH, Keanu saved himself once more with the Power of Veto, and Lauren became the fourth member of the jury after a 2-1 vote against Ava.

This week, Vince won his fourth HOH competition, two more than anyone else. With Vorgan (Vince + Morgan) safe and sound, Vince had easy decisions to make with just one week of gameplay left to go. Who did Vince nominate? Who went home in a surprise eviction? And which houseguest left is on their way to winning the $750,000 grand prize on Sunday’s finale?

Nominations and Veto

The final 5 held their second-to-last nomination ceremony shortly after Lauren’s eviction. Vince nominated Ava and Keanu, as expected. It was Ava’s third time nominated for a Vince HOH, and Keanu’s second time on the block from Vince. The nominations come as no surprise. The remaining members of “The Judges” alliance are still strong with Vince, Morgan, and Ashley. Plus, Keanu was the clear house target, so it was a no-brainer move.

Going into week 8 of the ‘Big Brother’ season, Morgan had zero competition wins. It was looking like the gamer was unable to build any momentum. Now, entering the final week of the season, Morgan has completely reinvented her game.

She has not only become a much better strategic player, but she has the competition wins to back her up. For five straight weeks, Morgan has won an HOH or Veto. She’s managed to win and keep herself for the entire jury phase of the game, with no jeopardy of being evicted. Morgan captured her fourth Power of Veto, tied with Keanu for the most this season. Her win solidified that no funny business would happen this week. The nominations stayed the same, and the plan to send Keanu to the jury house was coming to fruition.

Surprise eviction

Keanu’s time officially came to an end yesterday in a surprise eviction thanks to the ‘Big Brother’ Mastermind. It was a hard-fought effort by Keanu throughout the season, but his social and strategic gameplay was just not up to par compared to his competitive style. He won competitions when he needed to, tallying four vetos, two blockbusters, and one HOH for a total of seven competition wins, the most out of anyone (so far).

His eviction came with virtually no opposition, as Ashley and Morgan were set on voting out the dungeon master. Keanu had much more win equity than Ava and had a solid story that could be threatening if he were to sit on those final two chairs. Keanu will now enter the jury house, joining Rachel, Will, Kelley, and Lauren.

Another HOH is crowned

With Keanu out of the picture, a new HOH was up for grabs this week. Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Morgan kept herself safe again, becoming the new Head of Household and being the first person of the final four to guarantee their spot on Sunday’s finale. The win makes it six consecutive weeks where Morgan was ineligible to be evicted. With the Vince and Morgan relationship still the hot topic, Morgan predictably placed Ava and Ashley on the block.

Morgan’s hot streak continued as she secured the final Power of Veto of the season. She also makes history as she ties the record for most veto wins by a woman in ‘Big Brother’ with five. The result of this final veto competition also confirms that no man outside of Keanu has won the golden medallion. The women truly dominated the competitions. While the veto ceremony hasn’t happened yet, it would be shocking if Morgan used the veto to save Ashley or Ava. By doing so, Vince would automatically go on the block, and he would more than likely be evicted. Not only is it not worth the risk, but it’s the wrong game move for Morgan. Plus, we all know about the bubbling chemistry between the two.

Who will be evicted?

Since there’s only one person eligible to vote, Vince will make the lone decision in a vote between Ashley and Ava. The betting odds place Ava as the most likely evictee. Ashley has history with Vince due to “The Judges” alliance, and from conversations that have been had throughout the house, she’s considered the easiest to beat in the end. Plus, Morgan essentially makes Vince’s decisions, and if she wants Ashley to stay, then she’ll stay. The aura painter’s time in the ‘Big Brother’ house is coming to a close.

Week 11 (final) player ratings

Morgan – 10

You can’t get any better than how Morgan has maneuvered this endgame. It’s obvious that if Morgan gets in those final two chairs, she will be crowned the winner of ‘Big Brother 27,’ deservingly so. I’m rooting for her to take home the win, and she’s the favorite to do so. She gets the first 10 of the season.

Ashley – Mid 4

If Ashley can manage to get to the final two chairs, she may have a shot. Against Morgan, not likely. Against Vince, I think she has more friends in the jury than he does, and people might respect the fact that they’ve overlooked her. However, she has to get there, and due to her lackluster comp record, I wouldn’t bet on her to win. Her best chance is to convince Vince or Morgan to take her instead of each other.

Vince – Low 3

He’s played a weasel game of ‘Big Brother,’ and respect isn’t there. Morgan has controlled his decision-making, and it’s going to be challenging for Vince to talk about his game during the final speeches on finale night. I wouldn’t rule him all the way out, as maybe the jury will admire his 4 HOHs (maybe 5 if he wins the final HOH), but it’s not looking like that’ll be enough.

Ava – Mid 2

Ava is most likely taking a trip to the jury house on Thursday. She hasn’t been gaming all that much, and it seems inevitable. If she gets to the final two, her likability could propel her, especially against Vince. Like Ashley, it’s unlikely she can win the final HOH to guarantee her spot.

What to watch

The season will come to a close on Sunday, September 28, at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS. Not only will a winner be crowned, but America’s Favorite Houseguest will also be named. The winner of AFP will be decided by a fan vote and will receive the $50,000 prize. Personally, I’ll be voting for Rachel. The ‘Big Brother’ legend and Keanu are the leading candidates in the discourse between fans.
