With as many years in the music industry and hits as this singer-songwriter has, you would figure Bebe Rexha would be a household name.

Before she made chart-topping songs for herself, she worked under others. Listed below are underrated or unknown songs Rexha is credited on in different genres, showcasing her versatility.

Pop Music

Getting her start as a musically inclined child, Bebe Rexha has always been involved with music. She grew up being classically opera-trained and went to a performance arts high school in New York where she grew up. Since the start, she has explored many different scenes as she fought to make a living in the cutthroat music industry. Genres she has written for include Rock, Punk, Pop, Latin, R&B, Rap, K-pop, and Country.

“The Monster” performed by Eminem and Rihanna.

This song is arguably one of the most successful songs Bebe has worked on. As time went on after the song’s mainstream success, Rexha opened up about the deeper meaning behind the song. While the music video portrays the two stars struggling with their fame status, by Bebe’s account, it is about her struggle with Bipolar disorder.

She has spoken out about her mental health struggle and written many other songs about is like “Break My Heart Myself,” “I’m a Mess,” and “Sabotage” highlighting her struggles with feeling completely misunderstood.

This song went on to spend 4 weeks at number 1 on the Billboard charts.

“I’m Gonna Show You Crazy” performed by Bebe Rexha

This song, which was popularized on TikTok in 2020, has been heard by millions of ears. I just wanted to make sure Bebe was getting the credit she deserved for putting this song out so early in her career.

The song took off 6 years after its original release due to a TikTok trend, but many people could connect with the sentiment of being labeled “crazy.” In combination with her sharing her diagnosis of bipolar disorder and her struggle with her mental health from a young age, this song blew up because of its relatability.

R&B and Rap Music

When Bebe first started releasing her own music, she started with stereotypical “emo” scene music of the time and was even a part of the Warped Tour. After working with her “darker” artists, she started to release almost exclusively R&B and rap through the majority of 2017.

“All Hands On Deck” performed by Tinashe

An established R&B/ soul singer Tinashe has even had help from Bebe. A song from her third album as a solo artist, “Aquarius”, has writing credit from the New York-born singer.

Although from 2014, the song is very reminiscent of one of Tinashe’s recent hits “Nasty” showcasing how the song was truly a perfect fit for the star.

“That’s It” performed by Bebe Rexha, Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz

After writing for others, Bebe wanted to take her own shot at R&B/ Rap music to her catalog.

Bebe Rexhas’s entire 2017 EP All Your Fault Pt. 2 has a common R&B flow and similar trap beats. Rexha is no stranger to working with and for rappers as she has names like Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Lil Uzi Vert as collaborators with her work.

This song is a personal favorite of mine because of how seemingly out of left field it is now knowing her newer stuff.

Country Music

“Tough” performed by Tyler Hubbard (a member of Florida Georgia Line)

Bebe Rexha is likely most known for her song “Meant to Be” with Florida Georgia Line. The song was her first mainstream song after her popularity in the early 2000s. Arguably the revival she needed to not be seen as a one-hit wonder despite multiple charting songs.

After the success of “Meant to Be” the group of singers got close as a result of their collaboration’s success.

Florida Georgia Line decided to take a break from the group and pursue their own solo careers in 2022. In 2023 Tyler Hubbard, one of the two members released his self-titled album featuring a song that he and Bebe had written together.

“Seasons” performed by Bebe Rexha and Dolly Parton

Bebe has her hands in all the genre pots of modern music.

The third single of Bebe Rexha’s self-titled 2023 album features pop culture icon Dolly Parton. Together they sing about how everything changes around them but they feel the same.

When spending so much time in an ever-changing music industry, it is only natural to feel a little confused and lost. And to join the Country icon Dolly Parton, who also spent many years in the industry, is an honor.

Dance-Pop/ EDM Music

“Body Back” performed by Gryffin and Maia Wright

Bebe Rexha is currently best known for her EDM and Dance music. Although she has been seeing the most success now, she has been working with DJs since 2019, including this song she worked on for Gryffin and Maia Wright.

The song is very much Bebe’s style, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the backing vocals on the track are hers because of how similar the vocalist sounds.

Gryffin, the DJ, is also classically trained like Rexha. It must make the creative process easier to collaborate with the same base level of musical knowledge.

“Call You Mine” performed by Bebe Rexha and the Chainsmokers

Aside from Rexha’s very popular recent ventures with Dance-Pop music, she has been making hits in this genre since 2016.

This song spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and is still played live by the Chainsmokers.

Bebe Rexhas more recent dives into this genre include songs “Sacrifice,” “I’m Good (Blue)” with David Guetta, “Chase It,” and “I’m The Drama.”

Just this month she just released “I’m The Drama” and recently shared the music video. It looks like Rexha is moving towards continuing in the EDM genre as it has brought success.

Bebe Rexha has her hand in all pots of musical creations from opera, to trap music. Her influence is everywhere and deserves more recognition for the work she is doing for everyone in the music industry.
