The Strokes were once considered the hot alternative rock band of the mid-2000s. Now, the band who released their last studio album six years ago is hinting at a return to the music scene.

Lead guitarist, Nick Valensi, proclaimed during an interview on WAXQ that the new Strokes album was finished at the band was not finalizing the mixing stage. But the musician was hesitant to give a definitive release date or even if it would be released at all.

“…the album has a strong likelihood of being released,’ Valensi teased.

The last album The Strokes released was Comedown Machine in 2013 and by 2014, it hadn’t sold more than 100.000 copies. Maybe a comeback in a era where nostalgia sells is exactly what the New York band needs to revitalize themselves in 2019.
