If you’re on the search for authentic, absolutely hilarious yet truly hardworking music artists to follow, this one’s for you. ADÉLA’S journey to becoming a pop star is inspiring emerging artists worldwide, especially in Slovakia. She’s breaking expectations and choosing her own path to success. After all, in the year 2026, people are sick and tired of the same old stories; so was ADÉLA.

Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, Adéla Jergova is a 22-year-old, hot-pink-haired diva. She’s a true artist who worked hard to get to where she is now. Our first introduction to her as a music artist came through Netflix’s Pop Star Academy. If you’re familiar with KATSEYE, that’s likely where you know her from. Despite only releasing music for two years, Adéla is already working with major names, such as Julia Michaels and Demi Lovato, and seems to be constantly booked and busy.

Pop star roots

Adéla’s first love was ballet. She would spend hours in dance class and then come home and practice even more. At just 15 years old, she moved out of Slovakia to attend the English National Ballet School. For her, excelling in ballet wasn’t just about dance; it was about performing. All she wanted was to be on stage, and ballet gave her that opportunity. Ultimately, she left ballet and began fully pursuing her wildest dreams as a music artist.

In an Olivia Rodrigo interview, Adéla noticed the name of Olivia’s vocal coach, Jennifer Dustman. Taking the chance, she contacted her and asked for vocal lessons. She said yes, and they’ve been working together ever since. Through that same vocal coach, Adéla learned about the auditions for the global girl group Pop Star Academy was forming. She took the chance and got in.

Adéla was definitely one of the most loved contestants on the show, despite not making it through. However, now that it’s been a few years, I think everyone would agree that… thank god she didn’t make it into KATSEYE.

After elimination, Adéla realised she isn’t made for this. She’s someone who shines on her own. She even made merch with the text ‘doesn’t work well in groups.”

Experiences that shaped Adéla

As KATSEYE was formed and the documentary got released for the world to see, Adéla took the momentum and released her first solo song Homewrecked. At that point, she was doing it all on her own.

One thing about Adéla is that she “studied this shit”, as she says in her new song KGB. She’s been a fangirl her whole life. She observed and literally studied the biggest female pop stars, such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears. She even learned English by watching their interviews.

There is definitely a Lady Gaga resemblance that fans have noticed in Adéla. Fans love calling her ‘Gaga’s daughter’ and ‘the next Gaga.’ Adela truly isn’t afraid to experiment and be ‘weird.’ She once said she loved how Lady Gaga once performed in an IKEA parking lot and would absolutely do the same. Honestly, if there’s anyone I could see performing in an IKEA parking lot and somehow making it make complete sense, it would be Adéla.

By learning about the careers of the world’s biggest pop stars, Adéla became aware of how artists can be mistreated. She values creative freedom very highly and has made that clear to her label and team. After getting signed to Capitol Records, she made sure she knew how to protect herself from the outset.

Breaking the music industry’s expectations and succeeding because of it

There is a lot to learn from Adéla. Not only her drive and hunger for pop stardom, but also her confidence and willingness to take risks, have gotten her to where she is now.

You can see the determination early on from her devotion to ballet. Adéla “was like 8”, staying up at night to learn English and perfect the American accent. She didn’t have an example of a Slovak pop star making it into America, so she set out to be that herself.

Working hard builds self-esteem. Self-discipline makes a person believe in themselves. She proves that you can set a goal, work for it, and achieve it.

The industry names that believe in Adéla

Just like Adéla believed in herself, others also believed in her. Chris Horan, Charli XCX’s stylist, now also works with Adéla as her stylist and creative director. He was actually the one who contacted Adéla!

The same designers who made Natalie Portman’s ballet costume in Black Swan worked with Adéla to recreate the same costume in red for her newest music video, KGB.

She also works with the same choreographers as KATSEYE! It seems they continue to collaborate with several Pop Star Academy contestants. Some might argue that this leads to similarities in the girls’ artistry. However, the choreographers are insanely talented and can adapt to each artist’s style.

For her new Red Bottoms era, she’s working with Julia Michaels! The six-time Grammy nominee has written for artists such as Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, and many more. Julia Michaels is known as a top-tier behind-the-scenes songwriter in pop music. Absolute bangers are pretty much guaranteed on the new album.

Adéla shows the power of simply going for it. By being confident and not afraid to reach out to people. She is very strong-minded and will always speak her opinions. She is for the girlies who are tired of fakeness. She’s certain about who she is, and it shows.

You can’t make it out of Slovakia and be the first artist doing it like this if you don’t believe in yourself – Adéla, via Can You Do What Adéla does?

Impossible not to stand out

Once you see and hear about her, you won’t forget her. That pink hair can be recognized anywhere.

In 2025, Adéla went on her first tour. It was small, but unforgettable. She only went to a few cities in the UK and the United States. While she was on tour, all I saw from people on social media who went to a show was “this is her first tour, btw.” The top comments consistently pointed out how she has only just started and is already killing it.

Although the venues were small, Adéla made sure the stage was in the middle. She wanted to feel immersed and one with the crowd. It was just her and a ballet bar; the exact duo it all started with. And somehow, she still owned the entire room.

Some of the clips from the tour went viral, showing a significant growth in her career because… after the tour, Adéla was announced as the opener for Demi Lovato’s arena tour! This was major. The production and detail in her performances were insanely impressive for an opener. Although many of the fans, and I, predicted that she was obviously going to do something special. It wouldn’t be Adéla if she didn’t go all-in. It was almost like she was headlining her own tour. As she said herself, being on tour helped improve all aspects of her live performance. Her biggest passions are learning about dancing, singing, and performing.

This is only the beginning

Things are moving fast for Adéla. While on tour with Demi Lovato, she kept flying back and forth to finish her debut album. We don’t know the album’s release date just yet. However, she did announce the Red Bottoms Tour, which begins in August 2026. This might be the last time we see her on stages this small, so grab your tickets!

After building the foundations of her career independently, Adéla is now entering her era of collaboration. She found the right people who understand her and her intentions. Adélarinas (the fandom name) can expect a more cohesive and united Adéla era.

As of now, she has only released a few songs. At first, she stayed away from writing about what everyone else is writing about – love. Instead, she has songs about topics such as her relationship with ballet, the music industry’s expectations, and, of course, sexual expression. She has, though, recently mentioned that she might explore the topic of love.

Adéla makes pop, electronic, club-type music. The viral song KGB from her new era definitely fits right in. Actually, many new fans found her because the dance break to that song was trending on TikTok!

Her newest single Red Bottoms shows a slightly softer side of her sound. Could the Red Bottoms era be heading towards a richer, deeper, and more serious direction? If it is, it’d still feel like Adéla. Even the softer sound carries that same confident, sexual energy and on-brand choreography. Clearly, she knows what she’s doing. It’s so exciting to follow a new artist and slowly unpack all of their layers.

Artists constantly unpacking themselves and learning new things, from the people and art around them, makes them better artists.

I really want to go so much further and there’s so much more work to do and so much more things to learn – Adela, via Paper

I’m very excited to see Adélas career unfold, especially because of the type of person she is. She is so herself. To me, there is nothing more refreshing than that. Her friends in the music industry have told her that her lack of care for external opinions makes her good and different. Adéla isn’t bothered by all of that noise, and that’s exactly why she will go far. She’s definitely one you should keep an eye on! This is just the beginning.
