In case you missed it, U.S. metal band Threatin went on a European tour using a fake fan base.
First of all, I have to commend them for actually getting the tour booked. I mean, to create a whole fake fan base, fake record label, and fake promo videos, they went a long way to get this done. It must have taken a lot of work for them to build a fake history for the band.
So fast forward to the tour kicking off, and surprise surprise, no one went to the shows. People thought this whole thing was a joke until footage finally surfaced from one of the shows. I’ll just…let you be the judge…

Just looks like a band playing to a crowd to no one…kind of sad. But they also did fake their fan base so I can’t say I’m surprised no one showed up to their concert. Or any of them…
It is kind of humorous how much time and effort Threatin put into this knowing that it was more likely than not that no one would show up. I mean, why even go on stage if no one is there to watch you? I would think it would get expensive to perform all those shows with no one buying any tickets. I suppose they’re not terrible musicians, so it makes me wonder why they created this whole fake persona instead of building a real fan base from the ground up. I guess the world may never know. Or we might, I think this is still a developing story.
