Louis Vuitton has designed a new bag modeled after an airplane as part of their Fall/Winter 2021 collection. The bag costs $39,000 which, ironically enough, costs more than an actual airplane.
After Louis Vuitton announced the release of the bag, Twitter users jumped at the opportunity to jokingly compare the bag’s price to an actual airplane, in turn highlighting the absurd cost of the Louis bag.
One Twitter user linked a 1968 Cessna single-engine plane retailing for $32,300, which is $7,000 less than the Louis bag.
Responding to this tweet, another user added: “And have enough money left over for a new LV. Paint job.”
Another user joked: “Where’s my chapstick? Have you checked the cockpit?”
The bag was created by Virgil Abloh as part of his upcoming Louis Vuitton collection and, supposedly, is meant to target men as its audience. The bag is sculpted akin to an actual airplane, featuring a nose, tail, wings, and engines, as well as the fashion brand’s signature monogram pattern.
Despite costing nearly $40,000, one thing is for sure: this bag isn’t forgettable!
