Nintendo’s classic racing game is getting the virtual reality treatment.
Bandai Namaco and Valve’s HTC Vive headset have joined forces to bring a virtual reality spin on Mario Kart. The game is officially called Mario Kart Arcade GP VR and is set to premier in a a Tokyo arcade called VR Zone Shinjuku.
The game footage looks absolutely amazing. It is a first person driving game with all of the trademark gameplay, races, characters, and game modes. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peak.
As a lifetime racer (shoutout to Donkey Kong) I could not be more excited. It is sure to be a success in Tokyo and I can’t wait for it to make its way to places like Dave & Busters and other arcades.
If this makes you excited for the possibilities of virtual reality, check out this possible “Breaking Bad” experience!
