One of the most popular genres these days is the period drama. Taking viewers back to the Victorian era to swoon at all the interwoven relationships of posh officials, the period drama has become a staple of modern pop culture. Perhaps the most famous iteration in the modern era is Bridgerton.

We got Season 3 of Bridgerton in May 2024, but unfortunately, the wait is far from over. With a long production and even more extensive post-production, it might not be until 2026 that we get Season 4.

But do not be alarmed. While we wait for Bridgerton to return, a whole host of incredible period dramas keep us occupied in the world of TV. Here is a list of 10 period dramas to quench your Bridgerton thirst.

The last we heard from the showrunners, the show will not be continued with another season, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t support and watch it. The chemistry between Emily Bader and Edward Bleumal is Outlander’s level of chemistry. It is astounding and beautiful to watch.

A depiction of Queen Marie Antoinette as she understands the life of a French Queen before the French Revolution. It is a young and lively depiction of Marie Antoinette’s life and describes the hardships that come with an arranged marriage to a king.

This period drama has to be one of my newest obsessions, and I highly suggest enjoying every morsel of this series. Season 2 premiered on March 23, and I cannot wait to indulge in the relationship between Marie and Louis. Louis Cunningham, who plays the role of King Louis, is a direct descendant of the actual King Louis.

Based on Philippa Gregory’s book, we follow the story of Elizabeth of York, the White Queen’s daughter, and her complicated marriage to her husband, Henry VII.

It is a series of romances, secrets, lies, and never-ending drama. If you want to watch this, I suggest watching The White Queen first. They are both worth it.
