‘Shahmaran’ Cast Update: Know The New Cast Of This Turkish Netflix Series

Netflix’s latest fantasy and mysticism-based Turkish series, Shahmaran, is full of romance and fantasy. The series contains elements of a suspenseful and is an ominous take on a fabled Turkish legend. 

The romantic television drama is a remarkable addition to the category of fantasy and romance on Netflix. Similar series like The Witcher, Shadow and Bone, The Sandman, and others are available on Netflix to stream, and Shahmaran will get a chance to get featured in that category. 

The series features Turkish actress Serenay Sarikaya as Sahsu, a young woman from Istanbul. Sahsu travels to the city of Adana as a lecturer in search of answers from her grandfather, who dumped her mother years ago.

With the passing of his journey, Sahsu begins witnessing visions and gets into a mysterious community called Mar, descended from Shahmaran. The series shows Shahmaran as a mythical half-woman and half-snake being who used to live in an underground garden. 

It is also shown that many versions of Shahmaran have been featured in different stories and legends across various cultures.
