Following the announcement that Toby Stephens will play Poseidon in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, fans of Logan Lerman express their disappointment. The upcoming Percy Jackson is a new sequel to Rick Riordan’s book series of the same name, which features a young man named Percy who discovers he is the child of the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon. Percy is then taken away to a demigod and legendary creature camp.
While some cast members have previously been confirmed, the two significant parts – Poseidon and his brother Zeus – have remained unannounced, despite widespread online discussion. On the other hand, Lance Reddick and Toby Stephens have now been revealed as Percy Jackson’s most powerful gods.
Percy Jackson supporters who wished Lerman to return to his role as Poseidon took to Twitter to react to Stephens’ casting. However, the Percy Jackson casting comments are far more about Lerman not acting the part than Stephens getting the role.

Some fans had expressed disappointment that Lerman was speaking the truth in interviews when he said he would not play the iconic Greek deity. Meanwhile, several others are glad that the long-running fight for Lerman’s return has ended.
The long-running Lerman rumor should be put to rest now that Poseidon has been chosen. While Stephens was not the first choice for some Percy Jackson fans, he does have a record that must lead to success on the part of Poseidon.
Rather than bringing back previous Percy Jackson actors, the new series is focused on moving forward and creating something entirely new. Despite some audience members’ casting expectations, this is the best selection for the new show and the Percy Jackson legacy.
