On February 3, 2023, Netflix released the disturbing Spanish mystery thriller Infiesto, written and directed by PatxiAmezcua, screenwriter and Floor director of Gun City, A Man of Action, and The Warning.
The movie is set in a small town named Infiesto, situated in the northern part of Spain, in the Asturian mountains. The plot of this forthcoming Spanish crime film centers on two detectives working together on a kidnapping investigation. It follows the investigation into the early days of the pandemic lockdown into the reappearance of a young woman who had been thought dead for months.
The detectives must only not solve the case but also protect their families from the virus or any other disease. Soon, they discover that the disappearance is just one symptom of a sinister pattern. Additionally, the detectives are required to perform the task in a pandemic-affected nation. Santo star Isak Férriz, Iria del Río, Patricia Defran, and Xtremo actor Luis Zahera play the lead roles.
Through Netflix’s media center, the official synopsis for the movie reads:
“In March 2020, on the foremost day of the emergency circumstances, two detectives are called to the Austrian lowlands’ a remote mining town, to find a young woman who had been missing for years. The detectives quickly realise that the virus may not be the only evil force at work as the World crushes and individual tragedies strike everywhere.”
