I never really understood the connection you could form with artists who speak a different language. Vibing with the music is one thing, but I never thought you could be a full-on fan of an artist… until I found Young Miko. Even with my 192-day Duolingo streak, I still didn’t understand almost anything she was saying when talking to the crowd, but as one fan’s sign in London said: “Music breaks language barriers.” I haven’t heard anything truer.
Young Miko always delivers, no matter the venue size. Doesn’t even matter if half the audience doesn’t speak Spanish. Miko simply delivers, and we eat it up until there are no crumbs left on stage. Then we go to the merch stand and buy anything that’s left! (I bought an extremely oversized jacket because they didn’t have my size).
This concert reminded me of the real reason I love music. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like; music is universal. Each listener’s interpretation of a song is personal, yet the emotions it evokes are universally understood. It brings all of us together.
Who Young Miko is to me
You know how some artists are literally life-changing? They come into your life at a specific stage or align with whatever you’re going through. That is who Young Miko is to me.
I found Miko in December of 2025, when her newest album had just come out. Obviously, I was impatiently waiting for a tour. Then a few months went by, and it was kind of ‘too late’ for an artist to go on a tour for an album. But then Miko announced her Late Checkout Tour. My bank account literally said ”CHECKOUT!” So, I got a VIP Soundcheck ticket. Now, let me tell you all about it!
From small venues to arenas
A few days before the opening show, Miko began teasing some things. The thing I was most excited about was dancers touring with her for the first time! She even posted a little clip of her dancing in a rehearsal.
The tour started in Europe, where she doesn’t have the biggest audience. Therefore, the venues are small, the production is smaller, with no room for dancers. However, her live band created an equally vibrant atmosphere. It was clear that everybody wanted to be there. On the stage, there was also a table where all the flags and… let’s just say “articles of clothing” ended up.
Seeing your faves on small stages and being so close to them doesn’t last forever. I’m glad I was able to have this experience.
However, for the arena shows in Mexico and the United States, I believe we can expect a full production, dancers, choreography, and more. This is Miko’s 3rd tour and her first time doing arenas, so it’s going to be exciting to see how the shows evolve.
The VIP experience
Honestly, I felt nervous to see her. While queuing, I overheard other fans talking about how nervous they were, which somehow turned that collective feeling into excitement. Knowing we had the soundcheck ahead of the show felt like a much-needed warm-up before the main thing we’d been waiting for.
Right before entering the venue, we received our VIP gifts, as if the nerves and excitement weren’t already enough to overload our nervous systems. The album’s name is ”Do Not Disturb” so the gifts were very much DND-coded. We each got a beige tote bag, which had a signed poster, a “Not Now” door hanger, a ”Do Not Disturb” sleeping mask, and a lanyard.
Once the venue staff let us in, we waited by the stage. Suddenly, we heard a familiar voice through the speakers saying “Hello”. We all screamed while Young Miko walked on stage. She soundchecked 4 songs, talked with us, and then we filmed a TikTok! It was unreal to see how beautiful she is in real life. Girl was glowing.
The crowd proved itself before Miko even took the stage
Before Miko performed her set, a DJ, @Ivicore on Instagram, warmed us up. All songs were in Spanish, and most of the crowd was singing their hearts out. Even if you didn’t know the songs, it was impossible not to feed off the crowd’s energy. That was the moment I realised we got a good crowd tonight. Ivicore was such a vibe and seemed so genuine.
The front row experience
Then, at 8:30 pm, it was time for the one and only Reina (‘queen’ in Spanish) Young Miko, and I had the best seat in the house! Front and center on the barricade, the stars really were on my side.
Miko opened the show with “El Intro.” The lyrics were perfect for it.

She was wearing a slightly cropped light grey tank top with some blue checkered pants. She had a white belt with three hearts in the middle, which matched her white shoes. Her hair was styled half up, half down. In the middle of the show, a fan gave her a bracelet that she kept on till the end. The tattoos, though, were my favorite part. They’re like an extension of every outfit, peeking out from every angle. She could wear anything, and the tattoos would still be the cherry on top.
The setlist
Most songs that made the setlist were from her newest album ”Do Not Disturb: Late Checkout”. The first few songs were a mix from her discography. Riri was the only crumb we got from her debut album “Trap Kitty”. Sadly, she didn’t perform any songs from her second album ”att.”
As a dancer, I was excited to see Miko-dancer. Although I was sad there’d be no choreography, Meiomi will always be at our service. During Meiomi’s outro, Miko always does her dance. I’ll never get over that melody.
Favorite moments and interactions
Likey Likey turned out to be one of my favorite performances. This song also has a little dance for the chorus. During the second chorus, Miko and I danced together. She was right in front of me, and we were both doing that little choreo to each other. Basically, I can say that I blew kisses to Miko and she to me. I think I’ve reached my peak in life.
En El Ritz and Piki were the ultimate duo. Ever since becoming a fan, I’ve made it my full-time job to learn all the lyrics. In the last week before the show, I learned all of Piki. I genuinely reached a flow state, rapping a million words in Spanish in Miko’s face.
About halfway through, she slowed it down. The more mellow parts at concerts are usually my least favorite. I still love them, but I prefer to jump, scream, and release everything. However, this slow section was the best I’ve ever experienced.
Miko sang to me.
No, I will never get over it.
During Sin Pausa, Miko sits on the edge of the stage and makes everyone question everything by looking into the fans’ eyes. For London, I was one of the chosen ones. Not only did Miss Girl sit right in front of me, but she also sang to me for 8 seconds. Need I remind you that this is a small venue and the stage was VERY close? I even made her laugh because of how I was staring at her.
The iconic songs
A little more than halfway through, the icon, the legend COLMILLO started playing. This song is very high up there for me. Not just because of THAT part. IYKYK. But the whole venue did go absolutely feral during THAT part.
The most fun song was probably Chulo pt. 2. Another iconic and legendary song by 3 divas, Bad Gyal, Tokischa, and Young Miko. The crowd loved this one! From the first lyrics, Miko reached peak hype level, which made all of us even more excited.
BnB, one of the newer songs, has been a fan-favorite. It felt very euphoric to finally hear BnB after this emotional rollercoaster. Definitely one of the most hype songs of the night. As was FINA, a song featuring Bad Bunny.
Everyone who knows me knows my love for BIAF <3. I already am 100% certain it’ll be my number 1 song on Spotify Wrapped for 2026. That melody and beat could wake me up from a coma. I fully started laughing from excitement when BIAF <3 finally started playing.
Unexpected favorite and the one I waited for
There’s always that one song you didn’t know or didn’t like as much before a concert. And then after the show, you regret not knowing/liking it and would do anything to hear it live again. It’s a universal thing.
I’ve always loved Classy 101, her collab with Feid. But it was the song, I’d say, that surprised me most when I heard it live. I didn’t expect to love it so much.
In the setlist, Classy 101 was between some of my favorite songs, so I predicted I’d be able to calm down during this one. I wasn’t calm at any point of the show, but you know what I mean. Classy 101, sorry for underestimating you.
The last song was WASSUP. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve imagined hearing the intro of that song live. And it finally happened. Miko gave it her all for this closing performance. Every fan knew every word. The lights were flashing to the point that the camera barely stayed focused. We really were living the dream.
Young Miko’s impact on the fans and our impact on her
I’ve been following all of Miko’s tour shows online. My show was the 3rd of the whole tour, besides the many festivals in the middle. Therefore, this is just the beginning. She’s still about to take on the rest of the world. Get your tickets!
It’s been really sweet to see how her confidence grows. It’s hard to imagine THE Young Miko being a shy person after seeing how she performs on stage. But fans at Meet & Greets have said that once they mention that they’re nervous, Miko says she’s nervous too.
For many artists, doing smaller venues is much harder than bigger ones. During the first tour show, Miko barely talked to the audience. At the London show, she looked so much more confident and was always talking with us. At one point, she said she remembers going to a concert with her friends and doing all these little things that take up so much time and dedication. She said she sees all the signs, outfits, and everything we do.
It’s always so heartwarming to know that artists don’t just change and greatly impact our lives. We impact them too. In other shows, Miko has been saying that she didn’t feel like she had many people to relate to growing up. But then we showed up out of nowhere. Miko didn’t feel like she had anyone she could share her queerness with. But as she started making music,
for some reason, being queer was like, out of nowhere, it was my superpower. – Miko during her show in Amsterdam.
You can see and feel the genuineness in her when she has to stop in the middle of her speeches to not make herself cry.
The music is hype, fun, and free, and Miko balances it out with her vulnerability.
