VIDEO: Kendrick Lamar Releases Music Video For ‘Love’

It gets pretty deep, y’all.

For all the rap fans out there, I think you’ll appreciate Kendrick Lamar’s new single.

Despite what this year may have been like for some of us, 2017 was pretty good for Kendrick Lamar. The rapper has released plenty of amazing songs for his latest album, DAMN, and we’re pretty stoked about it. The latest is ‘LOVE’, which, as you may have guessed, is about love, and relationships in general. Which makes sense, considering it was recently revealed Lamar is engaged to his high school sweetheart. Aw.

The music video is pretty cool, check it out here:

I gotta say, it’s one of my favourite songs so far – though that could certainly change. It’s the tenth track on his album, featuring soul singer Zacari and it’s already in the millions in terms of YouTube views. It’s just kind of chilled out and nice to listen to. Give it a listen even if rap music isn’t really your thing, it might surprise you.

This is following the release of ‘ELEMENT’, ‘HUMBLE’, and ‘LOYALTY’ (that one features Rihanna for all you RiRi fans out there). The tracks all have a melancholic, self-reflective feel to them with plenty of storytelling going on.

Music artists like Kendrick Lamar are really fascinating for the hip hop genre. It’s just interesting to watch the amount of diversity that can be found within this type of music, it’s not all angrily bragging about getting rich like some may think (though that of course has a place in music history too).

If you’re interested in creating music yourself, here’s some advice for this digital age we live in.
