TikTok really has reached the upper echelons of social media and creative platforms, and it has graced us with some of the most interesting – and hilarious – videos. What’s brilliant about social media is the potential for exposure and the ability to reach thousands of people – and of course – go viral. Recently, Seth Rogen is one of these people to go viral on social media for, well, being kidnapped?
Well, not quite. When TikToker @chriscanbefunny decided to post a skit suggesting that the Pineapple Express actor had been kidnapped by a ceramicist, he didn’t expect the video to go viral, or to spark genuine concern for the comedian’s whereabouts. I can understand the confusion though, as Rogen has been posting a lot of pictures of pots recently. Clearly, the kidnapper misread his biography that he “likes to post about pot-s“.
All jokes aside, Seth himself responded to the video on Twitter and found it as amusing as you can expect, stating that “This video is very funny and not true at all!”
One of the highlights from the video is the suggestion that the ceramicist should release Seth so he can “keep making art”, which he has been doing, only he’s switched from the visual art-making of films to the more tangible expression of pottery. The pictures of vases Chris shares in his video are creations by Seth’s own hands, and to be fair, he seems to have a knack for it! No wonder people thought he was kidnapped – pottery is difficult, so I am thoroughly impressed with Rogen’s talent!
However, not everyone was swayed by Rogen’s tweet, with many pointing out that his denial of there being a kidnapper, is exactly what a kidnapper would say. I think this is a very fair retort.
Other fans expressed concern for the family dog, Zelda, hoping that she was safe and hadn’t been taken by this nefarious ceramicist. As someone who adores dogs, this was a big concern of mine as well.
But don’t worry dog lovers! Zelda Rogen tweeted a picture of Seth and his wife Lauren celebrating her birthday, expressly putting the kidnapping rumors to bed. What a good girl.
