You’re probably familiar with ‘pig in a blanket’, but have you ever seen one two-feet long and battered?
Papa’s Fish and Chip Shop has delivered a Christmas gift wrapped in a… duvet? Yes, their two-foot ‘pig in a blanket’ is so large that they are have named it ‘Papa’s Hog in a Duvet’.
The restaurant– with locations in Cleethorphes, Hull, Scarborough, and York– brought back their culinary creation from last year, and with everything that happened in 2020, this battered baby brings comfort to the end of a crazy year.
The ‘Hog in a Duvet’ is the world’s largest ‘pig in a blanket’: two-feet of British pork sausage enveloped in bacon, then crisped to perfection with a battered finish.
The ‘Hog in a Duvet’ is available until Christmas, with all proceeds going toward Cash For Kids. And to top it all off, the creation comes served in wrapping paper, like a precious gift on Christmas morning.
Last year, George Papas introduced the ‘Hog in a Duvet’:
‘Last year we sold a foot long [pig in a blanket] but this year we have moved it up another level and are selling the world’s largest battered pigs in blanket that we are calling a hog in a duvet.
‘It’s the most amazing pigs in a blanket you could ever have. It would be a challenge for one to eat but we would love to see if anyone can, and if not, it’s something to order on top of your fish and chips to share.’
