If you have watched every major action movie and thought there should be some sort of award for the greatest effects, I can do you one better.

This Guinness World Record for an actual building being demolished with explosives is exactly what people want to see. The power that if required for such damage is incredible.

The building that was the subject of this record was in Abu Dubai at the 144-floor-high Meena Plaza. To ensure the safe demolition of the building there were 18,000 drill holes require to lay the explosives.

In the time of social media and recording, of course the event was caught on tape. Check it out:

Whether or not that impressed you, the record has been broken. I would not suggest trying to break it yourself. This explosion was in a controlled environment by professionals for safety purposes.

Who just has money to blow up? Well, it looks like Abu Dubai does. As one of the most popular traveling locations for luxurious vacation, I would say they do.
