Push-ups World Record Broken By 6-Year-Old Russian

This feat of strength is something to behold.

Russia has quite a reputation in other parts of the world for being quite a tough place. Nothing sums that up more than a 6-year-old setting a world record for a total amount of push-ups in two hours.

Ibrahim Lyanov is from Novy Redant, Russia and was challenged by local sports club, Chingiz. If he could beat the record for push-ups performed in two hours, the club would give his family a new apartment. Ibrahim apparently went to the club with his father to train for the competition.

This video shows the boy coming to the end of his grueling workout:

You can see he pauses at some points, but a 6-year-old body isn’t typically built for this kind of exercise. He beat the record of how many push-ups completed in 2 hours, at 3,720. That won his family the apartment. Furthermore, he beat the Russian world record for performing 4,445 press ups in one continuous attempt.

Ibrahim has surpassed the previous record set by Rakhim Kurayev, who managed 4,105 push-ups without stopping. Perhaps we will see the two in competition at some point. We wonder what kind of things these kids will be able to do when they have grown up a bit!
