Iconic rapper of the 90s Eminem can now add restauranteur to his list of accolades with the opening of his new restaurant “Mom’s Spaghetti” in Detroit.

On September 29, Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) opened the doors to Mom’s Spaghetti, an Italian joint named after the iconic lyric in “Lose Yourself,” from the 2002 film 8 Mile with the memorable line “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti”. The restaurant was designed to be a “homegrown, DIY experience” complete with a walk-up window and a small, diner-like location.

The menu features a spaghetti recipe that includes “a scratch sauce that tastes like it’s straight from the jar, and wok-firing the noodles gives it that leftover pasta snap,” said Curt Catallo, co-owner of Union Joints restaurant group.
