A Bath resident found himself with a whole lot of unanswered questions when he spotted this baffling feat of social distancing in Royal Victoria Park.
This video shows the seconds after Facebook user Dai Barrow and his friends caught sight of a man perched at the very top of a monumental tree – casually tucking into a meal at an estimated 50-60ft above the ground!
Dai, a customer support manager, asked the questions on everyone’s lips:
“What the f*ck is he doing up there?” And how did he get up there???”
The footage, aptly-captioned “Social distancing at its finest!”, captures the man’s precarious position as he lounges back against an alarmingly flimsy branch.
Dai added:
“As I got closer I noticed there was no one at the bottom waiting for him, so he was on his own doing that. If you can you will, won’t you.”
“He was definitely comfortable up there so he must have done climbing, either professional or as a hobby or something.”
“It’s absolutely got a great view up there, 60ft above Bath, no doubt.”
“What a f*cking lad.”
You know 2020 has been a rough year when you look at a man perched perilously at the top of a giant tree and think “he might be safer staying up there”. He certainly seems at peace!
Here’s hoping there was no slip in confidence upon his eventual descent!
