Peet Montzingo wasn’t always known for his trombone skills.
The famous TikToker, who doubles as a California-based musician, began to amass his impress 9 million followers through a series of videos displaying pranks he was pulling on his mom, Vicky. After a few too many of the same old pranks, Montzingo’s videos lost their shock value as his mother slowly became used to his once-viral antics.
But that was all before Peet discovered his old trombone hiding in a back closet of his Los Angeles home.
Now, Montzingo’s TikToks have a brand new theme: soundtracking his mother’s everyday life with trombone music. And it’s pretty awesome.
The popular videos have racked in as many as 8 million likes, and consistently receive tens of thousands of comments and shares by TikTok users who find the running joke to be both hilarious and endearing.
While the trombone sounds can be startling and certainly annoying for Montzingo’s mother, Vicky, she seems to share his humor and— for the most part— goes along with the stunt. For viewers, it’s oddly heartwarming to see mother and son bond in such a unique and bizarre way.
Peet himself thinks that another appeal of his account content is the size discrepancy between him and his mother, who has dwarfism. In comparison to Vicky, Montzingo himself is an astonishing 6’1″, which adds a certain element of interest to his videos.
It’s not every day you get to see a kind mother’s daily life being musically accompanied by her seemingly giant son, but TikTok users have established it’s definitely something they want to see more of in the future.
