The inventor of Bitcoin, known only by the name Satoshi Nakamoto, is currently one of the richest people in the world, with an estimated fortune of around £44 billion. However, despite this monolithic fortune, no one knows who this inventor is if they are still alive and whether they were even a real person.

Bitcoin’s value has increased by 900% over the past year, with just one of the cryptocurrency worth £45,108. This means that its inventor is now the 19th richest person on the planet.

Satoshi Nakamoto owns around five percent of the world’s Bitcoin – working out to be 980,000, or £44bn worth – and the money hasn’t been touched for a decade. Bitcoin, created in 2009, was the world’s first decentralised currency. It’s obtained by people forcing computers to perform complex calculations in order to ‘mine’ the currency.

Aptly, there is a cryptid story surrounding the inventor of the cryptocurrency. Some people believe that the alias is a codename for a group of people who created Bitcoin, whereas others think that it was the work of one man. The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is still unknown and looks like it will remain shrouded in mystery in the future.
