Bill Gates just sank into a sorry third place in the ranks of all the rich people around the globe. He used to be the second richest person in the world, so who beat him?
Seven years ago, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index was created, and for the longest while since then, Mr. Gates occupied the second spot, thanks to his Microsoft accomplishments. Reigning first place champion is still (no surprise) Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, with a whooping net worth of $122 billion dollars.

Gates was bumped into the third place by a man named Bernard Arnault, who is a French businessman who owns several luxury company conglomerates, including designer goods such as Dior and Louis Vuitton; expensive liquors such as Moet & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, and Hennessy; and also, many luxury watches.
The funny thing is that Bill Gates would actually probably be number one, if it weren’t for all the money that he donated (over $35 billion) to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, that helps poor women and young girls transform their lives.

Fourth place is taken by Warren Buffet and coming in at fifth is none other than your favorite, Mark Zuckerberg.
