With online dating being so popular, it is so easy to go on weird dates. Or meet someone who will send 159,000 text messages without reply after just one date.

You go on a date, you think you had a great time, you want to see the other person again, they don’t reciprocate, maybe you cry and eat ice cream, and then move on. Right? Well, that’s not what happened here. Jacqueline Ades from Phoenix, Arizona fell so in love with her date after just one outing that she proceeded to text him 159,000 times. That’s upwards of 500 messages per day for those trying to calculate. He never responded to a single message.

This definitely sounds like harassment to me. But wait, there’s more. Apparently, Ades was found taking a bath in his home, lurking around in her car, and she even carried a large butcher’s knife with her. She is being held by local police until her trial begins February 5th.

Ades said in her jailhouse interview:

I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that’s what was happening.

Something came over me when I sent violent threats to the man. I never meant to hurt or scare him.

It’s OK if that’s how he feels. Somebody else should love him. He has so much to love.

He’s so cute. I can’t believe I scared him.

I felt like I met my soul mate and I thought we would just do what everybody else did and we would get married and everything would be fine.

Well, I don’t think she’ll be getting married anytime soon…or ever. She is clearly disturbed and police have said she is showing signs of mental illness. Let’s hope she gets the help she needs far away from the victim so he can go back to living his life normally. Hopefully he’ll be able to sleep better too.
