Who Should Become WWE’s Mr. and Ms. Money in the Bank?

Money in the Bank is an annual wrestling event that is highlighted by two career defining ladder matches.

Money in the Bank is one of the most important matches and events of the WWE calendar year. The winners of men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches earn a contract for a world championship match at any time or place.

The match has shaped people’s careers, reinvented stars, and contributed to some of WWE’s most memorable moments in its long history. Here, I will be ranking the men and women’s Money in the Bank ladder match participants from least and most likely to win ahead of Saturday’s show. Let’s dive in!

The men

6. Andrade

Andrade is a very talented worker. There’s no denying that. However, his second stint in WWE has been lackluster, to say the least. He’s done nothing super memorable outside his lengthy series of matches with Carmelo Hayes. It was surprising for him to be in this match, especially beating the likes of Jacob Fatu and Hayes, so it’s a no-brainer that he would be the last option to win this year’s Money in the Bank. Andrade is simply just a mid-carder, which is perfectly fine. He’ll at least have a good showing and do some fun spots.

5. Penta

I dig Penta a lot. I liked him in AEW, and I’ve liked his run in WWE. While he is definitely going to have some high-octane spots in this match with the likes of Andrade and El Grande Americano, I don’t peg him to be someone WWE straps the rocket on. Ultimately, I expect Penta to eventually move over to the tag division to team with his brother, Rey Fenix. Because of that, he doesn’t stand much of a chance to win this match, which catapults him into the world title scene. Still, it’s very cool to see him already in some big matches for WWE in just this short amount of time.

4. Solo Sikoa

Truth be told, I’m not Sikoa’s biggest fan. He’s not bad, but he’s not my cup of tea. However, he is in the current Bloodline story ,and there is a chance, albeit it slight, to force that story into becoming the world title feud. Again, it’s highly unlikely, and you’re more likely to get Sikoa challenging Fatu for the United States Championship in the near future, probably at SummerSlam. Sikoa probably won’t do the most interesting stuff in the match, but at least WWE isn’t pushing him out of the limelight for another big event.

3. El Grande Americano

El Grande Americano, a.k.a Chad Gable, is in this match. Yes, the gimmick is controversial. However, Gable is awesome in the ring, and he’ll have some fun moments in the ladder match. An interesting thing to note here is Worlds Collide. That AAA partnership is having its first major event on Saturday afternoon, right before Money in the Bank, and Gable, under his regular ring name, is challenging for the AAA Championship. I could see a scenario, especially if Triple H is truly not behind the Money in the Bank concept, for Grande Americano to cash in on the AAA title down the line and become the world champion over there. I wouldn’t be too shocked. Still, I think it’s a long shot, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

2. LA Knight

For the third straight year, Knight will be competing in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. In 2023, he was the favorite, at least amongst the fans, to win the match. He lost. In 2024, he was another fan favorite but wasn’t expected to win the match. Spoiler alert: he didn’t. Now it is 2025, and the question still remains…does the crowd support get him to the mountain top? His momentum has quieted down to some degree, but he is still getting great reactions. If the person I think is winning this match doesn’t, I could see WWE finally throwing Knight a bone and having him become Mr. Money in the Bank into an eventual world champion, something that has long been clamored for by a specific portion of the audience. Let’s see if Knight can finally win the big win. Yeah!

1. Seth Rollins

Rollins is the only man in this match who has won Money in the Bank before. His win 10 years ago revolutionized him and led him to cash in his title match at WrestleMania 31, becoming champion in the main event. It’s a legendary moment, and I think we’re about to get another must-see moment with Rollins winning once again and cashing in to become the World Heavyweight Champion. He’s a part of the biggest story of the company, and the Money in the Bank will feel ultra important when factored into things as well.

The women

6. Giulia

A few weeks ago, I would’ve thought Giulia had a better shot at retrieving the coveted briefcase. However, since qualifying for the ladder match, she has interacted and feuded with Zelina Vega, the current Women’s United States Champion. Clearly, WWE is positioning her to dethrone Vega as champion rather than win the ladder match and fight for one of the world titles. Giulia, as a mid-card champion, sounds great to me and eventually, she’ll work her way up to the world title ranks. Now is just not the time.

5. Alexa Bliss

Bliss is the only former Women’s Money in the Bank winner out of this lineup. Bliss is back and is teetering on a heel turn while still getting major pops from the WWE crowd. It makes sense why Bliss is in this match. She’s a big name, and she’ll be someone the crowd gravitates toward. But I just don’t see Bliss becoming a 2x Money in the Bank winner. She just got back, and I think time, seeing how her body holds up and how her character can reform itself, is the more important operation rather than just immediately strapping big responsibilities into her hands right off the bat. Plus, she has this story going on with Charlotte Flair that I think she has a lot of legs to it, and it doesn’t need the briefcase to factor in it.

4. Stephanie Vaquer

The new girl from the block, Vaquer, has rapidly risen up the ranks in WWE. After becoming the first double champion in NXT, Vaquer surprisingly dropped her NXT Women’s Championship en route to permanently moving up to the main roster’s Raw brand. The crowd is very much behind her, and her in-ring ability, aura, and likability are bar none. She is going to be world champion on the main roster sooner than later, but I just don’t see her as Ms. Money in the Bank quite yet because she is also a babyface, and it probably wouldn’t make sense for her to cash in on other babyfaces since it may generate negative buzz for her.

3. Roxanne Perez

Speaking of new girls to the main roster, the long-awaited call-up for Perez is set in stone as she makes a name for herself on the Raw roster. Perez is already in a story with The Judgement Day and is someone WWE has its eyes on. Similarly to Giulia, I don’t necessarily think Perez needs the Money in the Bank contract to further her story with The Judgment Day, but I do think she stands a better chance considering Liv Morgan is becoming a major star and maybe Morgan vs Perez is a marketable women’s world title feud in the future. For now, though, I’d stick to Perez narrowly missing out on making history at Money in the Bank.

2. Rhea Ripley

Mama in the Bank is hard to push aside as far as branding and revenue are concerned. Ripley, Ms. Money in the Bank, could be something WWE invests in, just primarily for the traction it would cause in terms of sales. Regardless of that potential, Ripley, as the winner, doesn’t make too much sense because she doesn’t need it. She’s a beast and the biggest female star in wrestling. The only way I can see her winning is if they have her call her shot and she fights Iyo Sky at Evolution. Besides that, I don’t know how a Money in the Bank briefcase held by Ripley would work. It’s hard to bet against Rhe, though, and there will definitely be some mixed responses online on Ripley’s booking if she wins once again. We’ll see.

1. Naomi

To me, there is no better choice to be Money in the Bank than Naomi. Naomi has been waiting a long while for this opportunity. While I have been up-and-down on Naomi throughout her runs in WWE, especially this current run, her heel turn has really elevated her, and she’s become one of the more enjoyable aspects of WWE’s weekly television. Naomi winning, cashing in on Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, or Bianca Belair (probably the latter ,too) is exactly what needs to happen. Hopefully, everyone will proceed with caution on Saturday night.
