Fans Force South Korean Ambassador To Drink Tequila

Some classic World Cup bonding.

It’s football season, of course there’s gonna be craziness from fans. And a lot of alcohol too.

People in Mexico truly believed they had gotten through to the World Cup’s last 16. Having already beaten both Germany and South Korea, fans were feeling pretty confident. However, there was still reason to worry. They were 3-0 down to Sweden, which meant that if Germany scored a goal in the last few minutes of the match, they would have been eliminated.

It was an intense twenty minutes for everyone involved. Don’t worry though. By scoring two goals in the last minute of the match, the South Korean team managed to beat the Germans.

This wasn’t just a solitary victory. As a result of this event, Sweden and Mexico made it through the initial group stages. South Korean pretty much saved their skin. Because of this, Mexican fans were estastic over the South Korean win and understandably felt pretty grateful. So, of course, they had to express their grateful the only way footballers know how: lots of booze.

Fans charged into the South Korean embassy, forcing their ambassdor to down a bottle of tequila to the sounds of mass applause:

Well, that’s one way to show appreciation. Good on the ambassador for being so up for it.

That’s it, this sets the standards for how all football fans should behave. People from different corners of the world coming together to celebrate in a drunken mess is definitely my idea of a good time. And it’s definitely what the World Cup is all about. Well, aside from the whole competing against each other thing.

But hey, isn’t it nice to know you can put petty rivalry aside from time to time?

Unfortunately, not everyone can take on board this message. There are people like Sir Alan Sugar in the world to remind us that actually, football is about telling racist jokes. Well, the harmony can’t last forever I suppose.
