Sing Bright Like a Diamond: £750,000 Speaker Made of Diamond Goes on Sale

While £750,000 could also buy you two Ferrari 812 Superfasts, 375,000 quality mosquito nets, or over 110,000 kilograms of cheddar cheese, you can be sure you are getting the best speaker on the market.

Lamborghini lost its lustre? Pad in the Hamptons a bit meh? Jewel encrusted dildo not quite doing the job anymore? Well stop twiddling your ring-covered thumbs and say hello to the Magico M9, the speaker made with diamonds.

But in all seriousness, while £750,000 could also buy you two Ferrari 812 Superfasts, 375,000 quality mosquito nets, or over 110,000 kilograms of cheddar cheese, you can be sure you are getting the best speaker on the market.

‘But I can’t see any diamonds!’ I hear you cry, ‘and why is it the best money can buy?’ Well the diamonds aren’t for bling purposes, they form a fine layer over the beryllium domes via ‘chemical vapour deposition’ to provide a wider frequency range.

Ask yourself, what would you pay for a speaker taller than most people? (Credit:Magico)

Now you may be like me, reclining back, thinking you’ll take the cheese. But that’s okay, as Magico CEO Alon Wolf believes only 10-100 of these will sell, according to an interview on TechRadar. A cool £7.5 million in revenue is sure to shine bright in the balance sheets.

Well, we can only hope these esteemed members of society, whoever they may be, decide to do something interesting with such window-shattering potential. Don’t relegate them to a Manhattan penthouse, where they will be doomed to croon Elgar and Bach. Put them in a student pad and watch them play ‘Opus’ until they explode. Because one thing’s for certain: they’ll be worth £10,000 once you rip the label off.
