Elon Musk Talks About Brain Implants With Joe Rogan

He could be saving the world, but at what cost?

Implanté dans l?épaisseur même du crâne, le mini-implant SonoCloud diffuse des ultrasons à la demande afin d'ouvrir temporairement la barrière hémato-encéphalique.

I’m not a fan of Elon Musk, so despite the incredible technological advances I’m about to share with you, expect some sass. It’s no secret Musk is at the forefront of the world’s newest technology pushing the boundaries of science itself. Let me introduce to you the Neuralink.

Musk’s newest project is a small device that theoretically can be implemented into a head to cure disabilities. A medical professional would drill a small hole in the patients head, take out the chunk of scull, and replace the hole with the Neuralink. Small wires sprout off the device and are placed in the directed areas of the brain that are being targeted.

So, to speak in simpler terms. If a person is deaf, blind, paralyzed, etc., this device is developed to compensate for the parts of the brain that are damaged. If the neurons that allow you to see are shot or unresponsive, the Neuralink will take its place. Therefore, restoring proper functioning.

If this idea were to become a reality, it could give the world the most effective treatment of these disabilities. Also mentioned by Musk was that the device has bluetooth. Does this mean you can connect to external devices with your mind? This should strike you as slightly weird and Black Mirror like.

I don’t mean to drag on the future of humanity. I know one way or another the technology is going to advance. It’s either going to kill us or save us and both are equally realistic. I guess I’m still the girl who reads paperback books and goes to the bank to deposit checks. However, it’s my opinion I’m not being accepting of the changing times just as it’s Musk’s opinion for trying to robotize humans.

To take a more wholistic approach, yes we do need electric cars to reverse climate change. Yes, we do need world-wide wifi to connect and elevate poorer countries. And even yes, we need a way to reverse paralysis, all of which are Musk’s workings. He is a genius man, I’ll give him that, but here is my qualm.

The world is on fire right now. Our Mother Earth is crying out for our help. What most people don’t understand is that the Earth has survived many new beginnings. Ice ages, fire, death and rebirth. She will be here with out without us on it. Our job is not to alter the Earth and force it to change, but shift this focus on ourselves. We need to change.

Often times people like Musk are too focused on the future fabricated from his desires to put those trillions of dollars into saving humanity. If the money that had been used to create SpaceX was put into researching renewable energy, ensuring clean water, education for marginalized groups, and just purely focused on our planet instead of Mars maybe we could have a chance.

It’s hard to see now because the effects of our changing world haven’t hit developed countries yes. You heard it here first, once there’s a global famine and our forests burn down no one is going to care about brain bluetooth. Okay I’m done now. But seriously, give it some thought.

All geniuses make mistakes. Check out this video of Musk smashing his own indestructible car windows.
