Fox News Calls The US Election: Biden Wins

Finally, a result.

Fox news has called Joe Biden as the winner of the US presidential election.

The divisive election occurred on Tuesday the 3rd of November. Due to posted ballots, the public was strung along without a winner for days. By the time Fox News called the election, many were begging for the outcome to be announced.

So it was – Joe Biden is to be the 46th president of the United States. In the end, it came down to Fox News’ calling of the states Pennsylvania and Nevada. Pennsylvania’s 20 and Nevada’s 6 electoral college votes were enough to push Biden past the necessary 270 ECVs for victory.

Biden replaces current President Donald Trump as the new leader of the US. This is the first time an incumbent president has lost a bid at re-election since George WH Bush in 1982.

Trump has been quoted saying: ‘I will never give up fighting for you and our nation,’ in the wake of Biden’s win. It is currently debatable whether Trump will concede the election, as he announces he will make several legal bids to contest.

The 2020 election sees many big milestones for US politics, as the highest turnout for an election ever was recorded. Nearly 150 million Americans voted, leading to the largest number of votes for a candidate ever for Joe Biden.

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris further makes milestones in US politics as both the first woman elected as Vice President, but also the first black woman and woman of Indian descent.

President-elect Joe Biden must be happy with this result – it is his third bid to be president. Third time’s the charm, as they say.
