On HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the comedian and TV-show presenter dedicated a monologue predicting how the next US Presidential elections might unfold. And if it comes true – lord help us.
The very detailed and insightful storytelling edge us into a fearful view of the future, as Maher teases his audience with what he calls his “dark prediction” for the 2024 Presidential Elections.
He mentions the “Slow Moving Coup” which he regretfully informs “is still moving”. Recently, a new document was leaked by CNN called the Eastman Memo Blueprint, conscripted by former President Donald Trump’s lawyer on how he can return to winning the elections after his loss in November 2020. The document entails a six-step plan that encouraged Mike Pence to overturn the elections.
The reason this failed at the time, was because Trump was hoping for enough Republican officials to come to his support – which, however, most did not. Bill Maher now comes to the scene, claiming that this is exactly what Trump has been slowly working on ever since.
Maher says, “this is not a good thing.”
He adds, “Some presidents spend their post-presidency building homes for the poor, raising money for charity, or painting their toes. Trump has spent his figuring out how to pull off the coup he couldn’t pull off last time.”
He summarizes the “three easiest predictions in the world”:
- “Trump will run again in 2024,”
- “He will get the Republican nomination,”
- “And whatever happens on election night, the next day he will announce that he won.”
Maher compares Trump’s politics like “a shark that’s not gone, just gone out to sea…” Cue the JAWS theme music! We have yet to wait a few years to find out if Maher is correct about this. But watch the video, and think for yourself how deeply thought out his predictions are… they do sound quite realistic – which is unsettling.
