Morgan Spurlock, best known for his documentaries ‘Supersize Me’ and ‘Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden?’, made a statement via Twitter in which he openly admits to his wrongdoings in the past.
Following several allegations made against Hollywood stars, Morgan Spurlock decided to step forward. He admitted to things he has done wrong in his past such as rape, infidelity and sexual harassment in the workplace.
In his recent confession, he describes his past in detail. Therefore, not only is he bettering himself but he is also opening the eyes of the public into seeing how these things can happen and be misunderstood. Even though Morgan Spurlock didn’t intend to hurt these women, he admits that
“I am part of the problem. We all are.”
Morgan Spurlock shares that he was abused as a child. It just shows that nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. But, by sharing this personal story it will help others on the road to self-recovery as well.
He definitely gains a form of respect by admitting to his past without it being addressed by anyone else. What a better way to help others come to terms with their issues and address this huge problem in society than to take the moral high ground and come forward. He says it is a confession:
“By recognizing and openly admitting what I’ve done to further a terrible situation, I hope to empower the change within myself. We should all find the courage to admit we are at fault.”
It must have taken a lot of courage to be so honest and open. Who knows what repercussions this could have on his career?
The problem of sexual assault is very much ongoing but lets hope that others take a leaf out of Morgan Spurlock’s book and open up. See also, Patrick Swayze Another Star Accused Of Sexual Assault for more Hollywood scandal.
