Man Mistakenly Sentences Himself to Life in Prison

A cautionary tale about holding your tongue.

In what appears to be a scene straight from Legally Blonde, a young man accidentally sentenced himself to life in prison.

In May, parents of a two week old were found guilty of the baby’s death,  The parents, Christopher McNabb and Cortney Bell, allegedly kept the baby in unbearable conditions.  According to Atlanta Journal Constitution, the baby died “a horrific death”.  According to SickChirpse, “[McNabb] killed her with a crushing blow to the head and buried her in some woodland near his home”.

The baby, Caliyah, was reported missing in December 2017.  She was likely already dead when McNabb enlisted his community in finding her. The two also have a surviving two year-old daughter.

McNabb was sentenced to life in prison without parole.  Bell was sentenced to 30 years, 15 years to serve. Although they were tried together, they were sentenced separately. Both parents were convicted of all charges they were indicted with.

Despite being found guilty, McNabb did say “I’m innocent. I didn’t do it,” as reported by AJC.  Next, he even made the statement, “If you ever find out who did it, they deserve to be under the jail.”  Essentially, McNabb prescribed death to the baby’s killer. In the video below, though, he appears to accidentally sentence himself to life in prison.
