Hamburg Unrecognisable In Wake Of G20 Protests

Don’t choose an affluent city as a political rendezvous spot – which is exactly what German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, did. The decision to host the G20 summit meeting in said city has attracted a small force of ‘radical leftists’ who have subsequently done a number on Hamburg, and now it looks like a Middle Eastern warzone.

Other political figures have wasted no time in lambasting Merkel’s decision. Sigmar Gabriel, Germany’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, remarked that ‘in the election year 2017, Chancellor Angela Merkel wanted to use the G20 summit in her hometown of Hamburg to burnish her image with attractive pictures.’

On Friday night, those partaking in the ‘rioting’ were throwing rocks from rooftops, constructing blazing barriers, and even managed to seize control of an entire district. Note that I did say it only looked like a Middle Eastern warzone, not that it was one.

Perhaps we’ll see more of the same when America’s (genuinely) mentally ill president comes for his UK visit.
