A man who needs little to no introduction, Drake recently unveiled his new private jet to the world via Instagram fittingly dubbed “Air Drake.” The 32 year old Canadian rapper seemed understandably excited and proud of his latest project as he gave a tour of his flying mansion. Oh yeah. Did I forget to mention that his ‘private jet’ is a full blown Boeing 767?
In the short, but revealing clip, Drake states of his personal airline, “No rental, no timeshare, no co-owners.” It’s clear that he’s keeping the 30-seater all to himself, yet one has to wonder why someone needs that much legroom and privacy when flying. I suppose it’s one of those scenarios in which Drake said, ‘Eh, why not?’ and let’s be honest, I’m sure there are very few people out there who would turn down their own private Boeing 767 if given the opportunity. Air Ryan? A bit more generic than ‘Air Drake,’ but still cool to daydream about.
Drake also gives some attention to Ajay Virmani, President and CEO of Cargojet Inc., the Canadian based company that partnered with the rapper to make this all happen. Virmani has stated, “We are very excited to partner with Drake as our ambassador and assisting him with his logistical needs and requirements.” He continues, “We have had a lengthy relationship with Drake and this partnership has grown organically between both parties. Cargojet and Drake are both great Canadian successes, we are thrilled to be partnering together.”
Drake himself has stated of the partnership, “Supporting home grown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so.”
I’m honestly very excited to hear about some crazy party taking place on the one and the only Air Drake in the future. Now that is going to be one hell of a story to tell.
