Recently, something awesome is in the makings by cruise ship company Virgin Voyage. Cruise ships can remind people of one of two things. Either older couples overpaying to play shuffleboard and eat at a commercialized greasy buffet, or parents with four small children running wild, screaming on the side of a pool.
Apparently, it doesn’t have to be like this anymore as Virgin Voyages is developing an ‘adults only’ cruise that is directed at millennials. The packages range from MegaRockstar, Rockstar, Sea Terrace Cabins, Sea View Cabins, and Insider Cabins.
Rumor has it that paying to upgrade to Rockstar status has a range of intruiging privilidges such as special access to events, a private lounge, both an ‘agent’ and ‘rider’ whatever that means, and even a personal make-up artist and hot tub.
It gets even crazier. The cruise has its own tattoo parlor and Drag shows for enjoyment of ship-goers. There are even mixology classes to teach passengers to how to create their own cocktails. With over 20 bars and restaurants on board, I doubt anyone will be stressed to make their own drinks though.
The ship has a customized two-story nightclub on deck along with a champange bar, draught house, and of course, a coffee cafe for the morning after. When you’re not busy drinking it seems there are countless other activity options. To name a few, track, yoga, an arcade, record store and even a casino.
Virgin Voyages is attempting to shatter the stigma around cruise ships and relabel their experiences as something young people want to do. Starting at £625 per person for a four day voyage is totally manageable. Tours start this coming March.
