Along with other symptoms of cabin fever that have come with global lockdown, most of us have an itch to travel as soon as the world gets back on its feet— and looking at this amazing helipad in Dubai will do nothing to help this wanderlust.
The Helipad is located on the 59th floor of the Burj al Arab hotel on the coast of Dubai, looking out over the Persian gulf. It has hosted sport stars such as Tiger Woods, Anthony Joshua, Cheyenne Woods, Andre Agassi, and Roger Federer for events.
Others have also taken sports involving the helipad to an extreme. It has previously been used for skydiving, kiteboarding jumps, and BMX jumps.
On a safer note, the helipad has also been rented out for parties. But its use doesn’t stop at just leisure activities— even government officials have used the helipad in their campaigns.
But on a daily basis, the helipad serves as a normal part of the hotel’s concierge service— guests have the option to use a normal shuttle service or to fly to their hotel in the helicopter. Unsurprisingly, many choose the helicopter.
Though the helipad is located precariously at about 695 feet above sea level, the design makes it safe for the 78 foot wide surface to hold up to 7.5 tons.
The helipad and the luxury Burj al Arab hotel are certainly items to add to a travel bucket list. For more travel inspiration, check out this amazing Icelandic location.
