Due to the pandemic, we have all found masks to be a necessity. There are a variety of masks available – including plain disposable, cloth with fun designs, medical grade, etc. But these masks from Kamenya Omoto have taken the cake. A full face mask of another person’s 3D face? Yes, get on their level.
Kamenya Omoto purchases the design of a person’s face for 40,000 yen and their designers then utilize the 3D data and photos to create a very realistic mask. It is said that it is a tedious process, taking hours to complete, and is done by hand. Check out the video below of a woman wearing the mask.
Wow, what an intense art form! This is referred to ‘That Face’ and the business is accepting applicants’ faces who are at least 20 years old and from Tokyo. Would you sell your face to soon see it all over town?
Here is a statement from the company:
We will buy and sell your faces. A science-fiction story has now become reality. No one yet knows what will happen to a world full of the same faces as you.
If a person’s face mask becomes super popular, the company will give them some of their earnings. Since this concept has began, the company has received an amazing amount of applicants willing to have their face copied. Kamenya Omoto remains selective in their face choices and the people whose faces are used are not allowed to provide their identity.
Kamenya Omoto has other fun mask options as well if you are not interested in completely changing your physical appearance just yet. How would you feel if you walked around town and everyone had the same face?
