Emojis; we use them constantly. In place of words or to add along to words, they bring our emotions to life even further. There are even some emojis we never knew we needed until they were created and added to our list. And of course, there’s always that one that hasn’t been created yet that you wish was (*cough cough* lime *cough cough*).

According to Emojipedia, the loudly crying emoji is now the most used emoji, taking the crown from tears of joy. This kind of makes sense given the past little over a year…there’s been a lot of crying. No matter where you live in the world, everything changed in March of 2020. COVID-19 has affected us all in some way and tears have usually been a part of that. Almost 3 million people have died from COVID-19 in just over a year worldwide, that’s a grim statistic.

The above photo shows mid-draw but it does look kind of cool and could maybe inspire a new face for the emoji? Anything is possible. Some say that the emoji is being used now alongside the syringe emoji to show that they are getting their vaccine, in which case this would be good crying. This one emoji is pretty versatile. Hopefully, in another year or so, a happier emoji or a food one will take top prize!
