This Guy Dry Aged A Steak In Peanut Butter…And It Was Amazing

What happens when you soak a steak in peanut butter for 35 days?

These days stuck at home are the perfect time to get creative with food, and this Youtube foodie really went all out with his latest creation.

Guga of Guga Foods started off by splitting a huge four bone rib in half and dousing one of the pieces with Jif peanut butter. He noted that the peanut butter was hard to spread, and the entire process looked weirdly similar to the icing of a cake.

He then put both pieces into his regular home fridge, and left them for 35 days. But be warned, that means an entire shelf of your fridge taken up by steak for over a month.

After dry ageing the meat, he removed all of the peanut butter and was left with, what looked like to us, a pretty similar steak to the regular one.

But Guga himself seemed pretty excited about it, noting the tenderness of the meat in comparison.

After cooking both on a huge barbecue, it was time for the taste test.

Guga deduced that the dry-aged flavour was not there in the peanut butter steak, but noted a slight hint of sweetness in it, which makes sense with the mountain of peanut butter it was soaked in. He also claimed it was actually more tender than the regular meat.

Either way, there was no concrete peanut butter taste achieved from the process, so if that’s what you’re after it may be a waste of time. Guga claims he made the sacrifice so we don’t have to.

He has plenty more crazy food videos on his channel, such as attempting to make the world’s rarest steak ever.
