When planning for a global apocalypse, what do you pack? Where do you go?  If you’ve watched the show Doomsday Preppers, you might’ve been convinced to stock up on canned food, find/construct some deep underground basement, etc. However, if you’re an Oreo executive, you probably want to protect your product.

Recently, Oreo has made headlines for having a vault made to store a large supply of Oreo’s and of course powdered milk to accompany them.

This Vault is located not too far away from the Global Seed Vault(A vault used to carry/preserve every seed from every plant on the planet.) Both can be found in Svalbard, Norway.

In revealing the location of their vault, Oreo also tried to dissuade the general public from attempting to break in noting that people would have to hack the code on the door, bypass security, and get past Sven(who I imagine is quite a guard as he was mentioned specifically by name.)

Additionally, Oreo made it clear that the oreo’s contained in the vault will be extremely well packaged to ensure they have the longest shelf life possible, along with mentioning that the recipe to create oreo’s is also in the vault waiting for some person or people far in the future to uncover.

In a series of tweets, Oreo confirmed that the vault was made to save oreo’s in the event that Asteroid 2018VP1 struck the Earth with a cataclysmic impact.

So, rest assured that when humanity is on its last legs, struggling to rebuild. There will be Oreos.
