10 Black-Owned Restaurants You Need to Try

Hungry for justice? Good. Support a local black-owned business.

Since the horrific murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, protesters have flooded the streets of cities worldwide, calling for an end to police brutality and systemic racism. Though thousands have joined physical protests, even more are using technology to demand change—signing online petitions, contacting local officials, donating to the cause, and further educating themselves on racism in American society.

Furthermore, many are actively working to support black-owned businesses, an effort especially important as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on. Well-intentioned social distancing ordinances have had devastating economic impacts, and small businesses have been hit hard. This is particularly true for the restaurant industry.

In the fight against racial inequality, every bit helps. We’ve compiled a list of some fantastic black-owned eateries across the nation. The next time you want to order in or go out (with a mask, of course), check out these spots. Supporting black entrepreneurs, keeping restaurants afloat, and getting some delicious food in the process? Sounds like a win-win-win.
