The Cuphead Show has come back with its third season on Netflix. It officially contains 11 new episodes, including a few holiday-themed installments. However, some are wondering about the possibility of The Cuphead Show season 4.

This animated series is based on the popular and acclaimed run ‘n’ gun indie game Cuphead, which recently released a DLC expansion titled Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course this past June.

Throughout the year, Netflix has released 36 episodes of The Cuphead Show. But what’s more to come for the animated series’ future?

Will there be a Cuphead Show season 4 on Netflix?

A few reports suggest that Netflix first ordered 48 episodes of The Cuphead Show. However, there aren’t any official sources for that news. It seems like the rumor began from this article from Animation Magazine. However, according to that article, the initial order consisted of 36 episodes, not 48. There can be an error when it was first reported that has since been corrected.

Odds are, The Cuphead Show is finished now. The third season concluded with a fitting finale, and since the first season had 13 episodes, season 2 had 12, and season 3 had 11, the total episode count is 36.

Netflix can add some episodes, but they wanted a three-part story and were happy to release it all in one year. What’s On Netflix previously titled the third season as the “final season,” So, as of now, it appears that The Cuphead Show season 4 is not going to happen.
