After months of waiting for a Stranger Things update, Netflix has finally released the season four trailer, and it’s looking as intense as we expected. Check it out:

The trailer opens with what I counted to be at least 6 children playing at the Hawkins National Laboratory with toy cars, blocks, 2 of which are older ones playing chess with a set with bird pieces.

We then see ‘Papa’ entering the same room and greeting the children and telling them he has something ‘very special planned for them’.

All the while, we can hear panicked breathing noises, coming from who we assume is ‘Eleven’ before the shot zooms into the number 11 door in the laboratory. Another person then asks ‘Eleven, are you listening?’ before we see Eleven’s eyes open.

Before the release of the trailer, Stranger Things also released another promo video of Hawkins National Laboratory’s control room. The video was full of clues as to what we can expect from the new season. Watch it here:

The release date is yet to be announced, but we can expect the new season to hit Netflix ‘sometime next year’ according to Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler.

Now, A HUGE SPOILER ALERT, we can also expect to see Jim Hopper played by David Harbour to appear in season four, after a teaser released in February 2020, confirmed Hopper was still alive after his alleged death in the season 3 finale.

Next year can’t come soon enough! Now, all we need is a Dustin and Steve spinoff.
