HBO Max and Netflix are well known for being some of the most famous purveyors of true crime documentaries, but other streaming services are trying to compete as well. Streamers like Peacock and Hulu released their successful docs in recent years.
Hulu has an exclusive, three-part docu-series planned about the Sarah Lawrence cult steered by con man Larry Ray. Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence is supposed to premiere in February 2023, and the official trailer and key art are out.
Those unfamiliar with the case must know that 62-year-old Larry Ray was sentenced on charges of sex trafficking, violent assault, extortion, forced labour, and other severe crimes earlier this year after an investigation uncovered Ray’s sinister agenda executives over a decade.
Ray was a con man who took advantage of his daughter to gain unprecedented access to young students at the liberal arts college.
What is Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence about?
The official synopsis shared by Hulu is given below:-
“With unprecedented access, STOLEN YOUTH: INSIDE THE CULT AT SARAH LAWRENCE excerpts striking first-hand interviews with conman Larry Ray’s victims and incorporates personal audio tapes and video recordings to tell the story of his grim 10 year influence over a group of young people. The series follows the story from the cult’s origins in 2010 on the Sarah Lawrence campus until its recent demise, when the last members find their own paths to survival.”
