Get ready, because season six is just around the corner!

The much-loved BBC show Peaky Blinders has just released its newest trailer teaasing the release of the upcoming sixth season. This is allegedly the final installment of the show and the last fans are going to get about the Shelby family’s antics.

The last teaser before this trailer was released was in November, when the  director of the show Anthony Byrne posted to Instagram a short clip of Cilian Murphy, who plays the protagonist Tommy Shelby, strolling through the night streets of Birmingham. The teaser ended with “We’re coming for you sooner than you think. By order of…” Leaving fans salivating for more.

Lots of conspiracies about the final season are starting to bubble on the Internet. There are rumours that Tom Hardy’s character, Alfie Solomons, might make a return after seemingly having been killed off in the fourth season. Lots of questions come to mind: What was Solomon doing since then? Was it a faked death? How will he be in season six, now that his presence is confirmed?

Some new faces arrive and some old faces leave, unfortunately. New Scouse actor Stephen Graham has also been added to season six’s cast, which fans are rather curious to see unfold on screen due to the recording having had many interruptions due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, Helen McCroy recently passed away due to her personal battle with breast cancer, and co-workers have confirmed that she will be absent from the new season. Cilian Murphy adds: “She would have been in series six if the pandemic hadn’t put everything on hold…We were just five days away from shooting in March 2020 when the lockdown was announced. Helen was the heart of that show and it was hard to make it without her. Really hard.”

He adds,

“There was this huge absence on the set. We all felt it. She died while we were shooting. She was too young. You can’t help but think of all the amazing roles she would have had.”

The new season of Peaky Blinders is set to release in the early months of 2022. While you wait, you might be curious to update yourself on the best movies of 2021, ranked.
