25 years ago (Hi, we are getting old!), NBC put out their hit Friends. The rest is history, as they say. Friends has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity due to being carried on Netflix. Yet fans were sadden to hear that at the end of 2019, Friends would be pulled from the streaming giant.

As a young girl, I loved watching Friends. I imagined one day I would grow up and move to the Big Apple and live with a group of my friends. We would have many hilarious adventures and only have to be struggling waitresses?! Only as an older, more mature version of myself have I did I begin to have A LOT of questions about Friends. First and foremost was always, how did they all afford such lovely apartments in the city?

But back to this reunion! What would a Friends reunion look like? Well our friends over at The Hollywood Reporter are saying this will be, “an unscripted reunion special that would feature Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, as well as series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman.” This honestly sounds like a party that will just happen to be filmed.

This will be HBO Max’s first Big Thing they are doing. With the popularity of Disney+ and their hit The Mandalorian, other new streaming services are looking to hit the ground running. Having a much beloved show do an unscripted reunion could be just the thing to further seal HBO’s dominance in quality film making.
